ISTA is still being logged!

On Monday, October 5th, 1998, in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, six people from the Nuxalk Nation (Warren Snow, Emily Johnny, William Ernest Tallio, Harry Schooner, Hereditary Chief Qwatsinas (Ed Moody) and Colette Schooner) stood  on trial for protecting Ista from clearcutting.

But, even during the trial, International Forest Products (Interfor) continued its logging operations at Ista. Head chief Nuximlayc had invited volunteers from environmental groups to Ista to take pictures with a digital camera and send them each day to the Nuxalk Nation website via satellite phone.

New stories and images were added each day from October 3rd to 10th, 1998.
